"A few years ago I crashed my bicycle near the downtown area of my hometown when my wheel got stuck while crossing a freight transport railroad track. I went down hard and I was stunned, as I never really rode in this neighborhood before. I stumbled my way to the curb and sat there to take inventory of my body when a few people who saw the crash came to my aid and assisted me. Another person came over with an unopened bottle of water and gave it to me. These people didn't even know me, nor did they speak my language in anything more than broken phrases, but they showed kindness to me, simply because I was a person who needed it."
"Our neighbor asked if I knew anyone who could check in our their cat while they are away. She said she would pay the going rate. I asked my son (a HS senior who ADORES cats) if he would be interested in the gig. With a huge smile he said “of course!”. When I asked him what his rate would be, he said, oh, that doesn’t seem like something I should charge money for. I would just like to help, and get to hang out with the kitty. 🥰"
"One of my colleagues honored my work anniversary this month by personally
bringing flowers to my home, with a note from the whole group."
